Keyless Locks
The whole idea of keyless locks is to remove the worrying issues relating to the possible loss of conventional keys. These issues can be; economic where many keys are associated with a single lock or locks, the costs involved in replacing cylinders and keys are significant; or logistical where providing the authorised key holders with replacement keys can be complex and expensive.
For these reasons many organisations have a policy of providing unique codes or proximity key fobs and cards associated with keyless locks. This means that although the initial outlay might be greater than that of a conventional locking system thereafter running costs can be reduced as only the code or proximity device associated with an individual needs to be changed in the event of it being lost or compromised. With more sophisticated products there are other benefits such as timed scheduling where certain individuals are allowed to use the lock at specific times and audit trails where the history of who accessed when can be extracted from the keyless lock.
