Free Safety Sign Surveys
CW Technologies now offer a free safety sign survey service to any North West organisation based within 35 miles of our Bury head office.
Working with Gwyn Ewens, an assessor of over 14 years fire and safety sign experience, CW Technologies will come to your premises to survey your building in line with BS5499, the Health and Safety (Safety Signs and Signals) Regulations and the new European law, EN 7010.
We will succinctly advise on which signs must be displayed, other signs we would recommend you display and existing signs you should remove to avoid confusion. Although we can and will cover all health and safety sign requirements, recent surveys have increasingly focused on fire exits, where both BS5499 and the new EN 7010 standard mean that the old Eurostyle running man signs could soon be outlawed.
Our Qualifications
Having worked for Chubb Fire for 7 years and a further 7 years for Caledonia Signs (distributor-only manufacturers of safety signs), Gwyn Ewens is extremely well versed in the latest changes in safety laws and standards. Gwyn has previously chaired FETA (the Fire Extinguishing Trade Association) committees and has also represented Caledonia on the Health and Safety Signs Association committee.
Our Service
We do not charge for our visits. The service is indirectly paid based on a gentlemen’s agreement that if you agree with our recommendations then you will buy your signs from CW Technoglogies’ range of over 5,000 standard signs. Please rest assured our rates are extremely competitive, with our 300x100mm fire exit signs costing just £2.40 in vinyl and £2.91 in rigid plastic.
Initially, we will provide a short form report of which signs are required and why. When an order is placed, a full plan of sign positions, sizes and materials will be handed over.

Not only does CW Technologies provide a free survey service and signs at market leading rates, we can also install your signs. This can be done at a time to suit you to ensure our work does not disrupt your staff’s regular working patterns.
